Four things have
always fascinated me: design, politics, flowers and light. To me, each of these
elements conveys a lot about who we are as people.
Design is
clearly geared to combine use with image. Perhaps this is none more
evident as manifested in the world of women’s shoes and more
particularly, the boot.
Politics are an
ever changing mirror of our world and society. Much like women’s shoes,
politicians come in all forms, constantly changing and shifting their
posture in order to advance a position, if not a cause.
Flowers are
beautiful and complex creations of nature. It is people who place
meaning, lore and context to flowers. We define a flower as love or
happiness, a season or a place. Flowers come and go, perhaps residing
best in our memories.
Finally, light
may be the most dynamic of these elements. It is always changing,
always evoking a mood or a place.
Boots
is a series which combines each of these elements into a reflection of
recent events.
